Worthing Music and Arts Festival (WMAAF) has, over the past  75 years, evolved from a small civic gathering into a premier performance event.  While its name has changed over the decades, its core purpose remains constant: providing professional encouragement and vital performance opportunities.

The festival serves as a foundation for youth development and community leadership. Many current heads of performing arts departments in schools across Sussex first developed their confidence on the Worthing stage.  Former young performers have transitioned from the festival to professional careers in West End musicals, ballet companies, television dramas, and legendary rock bands.

As a registered charity affiliated with the British and International Federation of Festivals and as an All England Dance qualifier, the festival guarantees a professional, safeguarded, and highly supportive experience for every performer.

Built upon the efforts of dedicated volunteers and an enduring creative spark, the festival remains a cornerstone of the regional arts community.
